Vintage signed sports card of legendary double Gold Medal winner in speed skating at the 1932 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid Jack Shea.
He was a Lake Placid native and the grandfather/Father making three generations of Olympians, himself included. Jack, Jim and Jimmy Shea produced three Olympic gold medals for Team USA Jack winning two golds in speed skating in 1932 and his grandson Jimmy Shea winning gold in skeleton in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City Utah. Jim, The father of Jimmy, son of Jack was also a Olympic skier for the US ski team marking the first time in Olympic history of three generations of Olympians.
Jack Shea unfortunately passed away here in Lake Placid in a automobile accident just prior to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake and was unable to see his grandson take gold in skeleton although Jimmy carried a picture of his grandfather in his racing helmet as an inspiration. Upon completion of winning gold he pulled his picture of his grandfather out and look to the sky and I'm sure his grandfather was looking down upon him in Victory celebration.
Includes hologram authentication from Name Of The Game Sports Lake Placid Home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.
